Galvanised steel Vs stainless steel ductwork parts

Although these parts might look the same to the untrained eye – it is very important to understand the difference between the two because they are suited to different purposes and situations.

Galvanised steel spiral ducting

Galvanised steel is suitable for a many application when constructing or extending a workshop or factory extraction system. It is also a strong and cost-effective solution, resisting corrosion, as long as it is not saltwater.

This steel is covered in a rust protective zinc layer, but it can wear off in time and as such is not perhaps as long lasting as Stainless Steel. However, this material is a much cheaper option and still does a great job.

Stainless steel spiral ducting

Stainless Steel Spiral Ducting is suitable for a wide range of applications and offers durability and is more suitable to certain sectors due to its characteristics of being non-reactive to corrosive chemicals. This is beneficial to some industry sectors because stainless steel retains its shape in extreme heat and resistant to corrosive/harmful substances.

We’re adding new parts to the website all the time, if there is something you don’t see there is a good chance we have it so please get in touch.
