How To: Fit a Pipe Saddle to Ducting

How To - Fit a Pipe Saddle to Ducting Banner

Video Transcript:

Hi guys, in this video I will be showing you how to connect a saddle to a piece of spiral ducting. The spiral will need to be marked where you would like the saddle to sit. The best way to do this is to place the saddle on to the ducting and mark around the outside and around the inside, like so. Once the two marks have been created, you can drill a hole and cut around with an an angle grinder, jig saw or tin snips. For the purpose of this video I will not be showing this in action, but here I is one that I created earlier today.

To fit the saddle you will need to put a bead of silicone around the cut and place the saddle on top and apply pressure. To secure, I would recommend tek screws and another bead of silicone if required. Here we have one that has been completed, to show you what it should look like when finished.

There we have it, a saddle fitted to spiral ducting – thanks for watching!
