Wood work Floppy Filter Bags - What bag is right for me?

Do I go for the 350g or 500g Wood Work Floppy Filter Bags?

We're looking into the distinctions between our Wood Work Floppy Filter Bags, available in 350g and 500g variants.

Visually both bags look identical; are they the same?

No… whilst both the 350g and the 500g bags look seemingly identical, they are fundamentally different products. The variance lies in their thickness and composition.

The 350g bag, with its 1.1mm thickness, is tailored for larger particles like wood chips, while the 500g counterpart, boasting 1.55mm thickness, suits finer dust such as MDF / cement particles.

Air permeability:

Air permeability is the measure of air flow passed through a given area of fabric with these bags.

The 350g bag allows 225 litres per decametre of air, whereas its sturdier 500g permits 145 litres, with both requiring 200 pascals of pressure for optimal performance.

While the 350g bag allows more air through, it also lets smaller particles slip by. It's a delicate balance between airflow and filtration efficiency, one that's essential for maintaining a healthy and safe working environment.

How long do the filter bags last?

When dust builds up on the surface, it can improve filtration efficiency to a certain extent - a process known as blinding. However, if the bags stay inflated for too long, their effectiveness reduces. To keep them working well for longer, it's best to deflate them during breaks.

Choosing the correct filter bag:

The 350g bag handles particles between 5 and 100 microns, while the stronger 500g bag filters particles as small as 0.5 microns, making it highly effective against very fine dust.
